Procedure Tools / Software Used

The John Stout Associates Ltd. business is run from an office located at Sidcup in SE London/Kent.

We operate a comprehensive computerised system for the search and selection of candidates for both permanent and contract positions. The details of the hardware/software used for this are set-out below. As a result of operating these progressively more sophisticated facilities over the last 14 years we now have an in-house database of CV's and contact information for approximately 130,000 IT specialists.

We advertise exclusively on the Internet since in our experience this is by far the most efficient method of obtaining new candidates. We also use the method of automated Emailing of candidates who match search criteria applied to our Database CV's.

 

Our normal procedure for the Supply of Contractors is as follows:

  1. JSA will gain notification of a Requirement by EMAIL or Fax or by Phone.
  2. The Requirement is registered on the JSA Database and advertisements placed on this Web site and on JOBSERVE and various other suitable internet recruitment sites.
  3. A Database search is carried out by use of our powerful internal searching facilities and matching CVs will scrutinised. Potential candidates contacted by EMAIL or telephone or letter.
  4. CV updates and Applications are normally received within 24 hours via EMAIL. The Recruitment Consultant will select potential candidates and then these are contacted and interviewed by telephone. Selected Candidates are notified with details of the Job specification and rate expectations are discussed. Normally if contractors are asking for rates that are outside the guidelines they will be sidelined at this stage and either the expectation made more realistic or else another candidate selected.
  5. Having finally selected the most suitable qualified candidates the CV's will be EMAILED or faxed to the client for consideration. The information sent will include availability date and an indication of the candidate's asking rate.
  6. The JSA consultant will normally call the Client after 24 hours to ensure that the CV's have been received and to check for feedback on the quality of the candidates.
  7. The Recruitment Consultant will arrange interviews as required by the particular client.
  8. After the interview has been held the Recruitment Consultant will contact the Client for 'feedback'.
  9. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified.
  10. Assuming that the candidate is successful we will immediately produce a contract for the contractor and a confirmation note to the client pending the arrival of the Client Confirmation by fax.

The procedure for the supply of Permanent Candidates is similar to the above but will of necessity take a longer period since under normal circumstances permanent candidates take longer to contact and research. top of the page

 

Tools / Software Used

We operate an internal network of PCs linked to a high-speed Internet connection. In addition all of our consultants have machines (Laptops etc.) at home with facilities to dial and log-in to their work station to give them all of the facilities they would have when working physically at their office desk.
