John Stout is an experienced IT practitioner having spent all of his career, since graduating in 1961, working in the IT arena mostly in the Finance / Investment Banking industry. John has had experience at large organisations such as IBM United Kingdom, Touche Ross Management Consultants, Laing & Cruickshank, Merrill Lynch Europe and Cable & Wireless Communications as well as having had the experience of managing 2 or 3 smaller IT services concerns.
John commenced working as a Recruitment Consultant in 1991 becoming Managing Director of an Agency with many 'city' clients and in 1994 John was eventually able to set-up his own recruitment organisation, John Stout Associates Limited (JSA), which started trading as an Agency in February 1995.
JSA is well financed, energetic, enthusiastic and committed to the provision of a high quality service. With the benefit of John's previous career and our list of Banking and Telecoms clients, we have built up extensive experience and understanding of both fast expanding environments.

We operate our systems based on an in house database currently holding
details of more than 128,000 candidates. We employ sophisticated
text search software which gives us the ability to rapidly locate
suitably skilled candidates. We endeavour to keep their records
up to date by targeted emailing to notify candidates of open positions

Telco Experience
For a 15 month period John was employed at Mercury Communications/ C & W as Services Manger reporting to the IS Director and gained wide appreciation of the
telecommunications business environment in his role of liaison between the IS Division and the Business users. After leaving C & W John commenced working as a
Recruitment Consultant and introduced the Agency he was working for at that time to the C& W business. Over a period of 2/3 years (1992 - 1994 he acted as Account Manager and
introduced approximately 25 to 30 contractors to that organisation ( until very recently 3 of them were still working at CWC via IBM Global Services ).
In January 1995 John decided to set-up his own recruitment organisation and JSA started operating as an Agency.
From 1995 JSA made 34 contract placements at C & W. At the peak we had in excess of 20 consultants in the C & W organisation but since the outsourcing of the bulk of the
IS division to IBM Global Services in September 1998 the situation at C & W has obviously been much quieter and we have taken this opportunity to successfully develop other markets.
We remain keen however to maintain our interest in the Telco market and have been successful as suppliers to a number of other organisations in the same sector. ( eg NTL, Telefonica, Sita, GPN Telecoms, etc. )
Investment Banking Experience
The strengths of John Stout Associates have been based on the experiences and contacts made in John's career in the IT industry which started as a new graduate with IBM United Kingdom Ltd. in 1961. After leaving IBM John spent much of his career working in the 'City' with such organisations as Touche Ross, Laing & Cruickshank (now Credit Lyonnaise Securities) and Merrill Lynch Europe where he was Head of IT/Telecoms 1981 - 1988 . This was followed by a two year period as Managing Director of an IBM Marketing Agency ( AS400 / small mainframes ) with mainly Banking industry clients.
